3. Draft your consumer complaint
Facts in order, deficiency identified, relief quantified (refund + compensation + costs). Attach invoice, communication and proof.
4. File in the right commission
District Commission up to ₹50 lakh — filing fee is nil up to ₹5 lakh. E-filing via e-daakhil.nic.in works in most states.
5. Attend and enforce
Hearings are relatively informal; you can appear yourself. Orders are enforceable like court decrees.
Good to know: Limitation is 2 years from the cause of action — don’t sit on a dispute hoping the seller relents.
